Krish Inc. Celebrates ‘Kite Flying Event’ With Traditional Gaiety And Fervor
Makar Sankranti is amongst the most joyous occasion in most parts of India, which denotes the phenomenon of the Sun traversing towards the Northern hemisphere. On this day i.e 14th January every year, the Sun transits from Saggitarius to Capricon during the winter solstice, this is known as Makar Sankranti. Here, Makar means Capricon and Sankranti means transition.
To celebrate Makar Sankranti, or Uttarayana, Team Krish (www.krishtechnolabs.com) organized a ‘Kite Flying Event’ in advance on Saturday, 12 January 2013. All the members of the Krish family got together on the roof top of the office building and filled the sky with kites of different shapes and sizes.
The occasion turned festive within a few moments. Shouts of excitement and joy filled the skies as the kites rose high against the wind. Krish enthusiasts also ‘attacked’ other kites flying in the sky displaying the traditional skills of cutting their strings. This is what is known as ‘pech laagyo’ in the local dialect. Loud and joyous shouts of ‘kaaapyo chhe’ filled the sky.
Later during the occasion, sweets were distributed and all the members immersed themselves into the lively and vibrant mood during the day. The occasion also attracted the unexpected attention of passers-by, making the participants feel obviously wowed by their display of traditional skills in addition to their computing, programming, and web designing skills!
It was a one of those occasion where all the team members including the management and entire staff enjoyed each and every moment. Besides the traditional Makar Sankranti message of Tamaso Ma Jyotirgamaya, which means move from darkness to light, the kites also pass on a message of soaring towards the highest aims and ambitions in one’s lives, without falling victim to any inhibition or self-deceit.
