SFI Australia is a dedicated, family-owned enterprise established in 1977, providing industrial supplies, tool hire, logistical services, and shutdown support to Australia’s mining, energy, construction, and manufacturing sectors. With a broad product catalog of 4,000+ SKUs, SFI enables project-based operations across diverse job sites, ensuring equipment availability and minimizing downtime.
To meet the demands of enterprise procurement teams and overcome the limitations of its outdated SANA Commerce platform, SFI Australia connected with Krish for a modern, enterprise-grade solution. Their goals included building a secure, scalable, and intuitive B2B commerce platform for complex approval hierarchies, company-specific catalogs, and real-time ERP integrations, ensuring an efficient and transparent procurement experience for their B2B clients.
Krish engineered a robust, multisite Adobe Commerce Cloud ecosystem, mirroring SFI’s project-driven structure. The collaboration yielded them a new platform featuring secure access, project-specific catalogs, tiered and volume-based pricing, and a bespoke sequential Purchase Order approval workflow. With seamless ERP integration ensuring real-time synchronization of product, pricing, and order data - the new platform delivers a scalable, intuitive, and transparent procurement experience, empowering SFI’s B2B clients to thrive.
Krish delivered a comprehensive enclosed B2B eCommerce platform for SFI Australia, migrating from the outdated SANA Commerce system to Adobe Commerce Cloud. The new platform was purpose-built to address the gaps in user experience, workflow automation, and data integration. This empowered SFI’s B2B clients with an intuitive, scalable, and secure procurement environment. Key highlights of this project includes a custom approval hierarchy with sequential, role-based workflows built using Adobe Commerce App Builder. Plus, real-time ERP integration with Microsoft Dynamics NAV for seamless synchronization of product data, pricing, and order status.
To further streamline operations, our team implemented shared catalogs for company-specific pricing and product visibility, CRN-based search enhancements, and seamless address sharing across users. A dedicated module logged all ERP–Adobe Commerce sync activities, ensuring accountability and transparency. We also designed user-centric UI/UX flows, while boosting performance and observability using New Relic APM and Amasty Mega Menu Pro. The final solution provided a robust, future-ready foundation for SFI’s procurement teams, meeting the needs of project-based operations with precision and agility.
The primary objective was to deliver a future-ready, enterprise-grade B2B commerce platform that addressed the nuanced needs of SFI Australia’s project-based procurement teams. The strategy centered around creating a secure and scalable ecosystem within Adobe Commerce Cloud, seamlessly integrated with Microsoft Dynamics NAV for real-time synchronization of product data, pricing, and order updates.
To bring this vision to life, Krish conducted detailed solution discovery sessions with key SFI stakeholders. These workshops uncovered operational pain points and informed a phased implementation approach, focusing first on replicating SFI’s company-level hierarchies and approval workflows within a multisite structure. A user-centric design made the digital journey intuitive and streamlined, with backend integrations and ERP sync as the single source of truth for all transactions. With built-in flexibility and a modular architecture, the strategy set the stage for continuous growth and future enhancements, empowering SFI’s procurement teams to operate more efficiently and confidently.
Krish successfully launched SFI Australia’s B2B webstore, driving measurable improvements across performance and engagement metrics. The new platform registered ~600 company users and achieved an average page load time of 4.6 seconds. It scored a performance score of 56, reflecting improved efficiency and stability. Beyond these metrics, the fully automated approval workflows and real-time ERP integrations have drastically reduced manual intervention, enabling faster approvals and improved accuracy across all transactions. With enhanced performance observability and scalable architecture, SFI Australia is now equipped to confidently meet evolving customer demands and future-proof its digital procurement operations.
