The Magento Live Australia conference was held at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 July, 2013. The venue was a sophisticated and modern five star hotel enabled with the state-of-the-art technology. Located at the heart of the central business district, the hotel is walking distance to many of the major icons and Australia’s world famous attractions. Over 250 leading eCommerce merchants, Magento professional partners and developers from Australia and other international locations were in attendance. Hence, Sydney was the perfect setting for Magento Inc. to run its first Magento Live conference in Australia.
The trends across the world point to the fact that online sales are increasing. More and more people are purchasing products since its more convenient and people can return the products if these don’t fit. Taking this into consideration, the first Magento Live conference was a HUGE success. Magento CEO Roy Rubin spoke at the conference along with other key Magento executives such as Craig Peasley, Gary Forman, and Jimmy Duvall.
For many participants, Magento Live Australia offered a great opportunity to contribute to the local Magento Community. Many companies are also looking forward to moving to Australia, which has the scope to be incredibly successful with the help of the designers, developers, as well as retailers who are already a part of the Australian eCommerce sector.
